Why does this app deserve a Happy Face?

Doodle Darlings is an educational app that has a fun and interactive interface that anyone can enjoy. The music is whimsical, graphics are pleasingly charming and basically put; four apps in one. From starting up the app itself, you get a very playful and cheery music in the background which is very inviting. By simply clicking on the different characters, you can start enjoying the different learning games. There are 4 characters you can choose from; Laurie Lion, Honey Suckle Horse, Snap Dragon Dinosaur and Bramble Bunny. Each character has their own fun activity. With Laurie Lion; you get to draw, Honey Suckle Horse, you can tickle it to make it move and laugh, Snap Dragon Dinosaur; you can learn how to count and finally Bramble Bunny; you get to help find its carrot in different mazes. With all four activities, this will surely keep your child entertained.

As if the games themselves were not enough, there is a link on the app which lets you go to their website and own one, two, three or all four of the characters from the app. They are pretty cute. Doodle Darlings by Doodle Darlings.

Toca Doctor HD is a fun app that introduces your kids to an experience that they might find scary in reality but fun and engaging on the iPad. Getting hurt and seeing a doctor are two things which kids probably despise. However, with Toca Doctor, it actually turns it into a very fun experience. Both the animations and background music are whimsical; cute. It will surely not scare away your children; it is definitely pain free. The interaction is great; it also lets you take advantage of the gyroscope on your iPad or iPhone in a few of the fun activities.

It is definitely fun and surely has an educational value. You will find this to be amusing and might even see a different side of your kids when they need to pay the doctor a visit next time. Great reward value points if you ask me. Toca Doctor HD by Toca Boca.

Burn the Rope is an app that will let your inner child or just child play with fire in a safe and protected handheld device. This app is surely suitable for all ages. The graphics are quite nice and the layout of the rope puzzles is not the easiest to play through. You get to choose from a ‘story mode’ where you solve given puzzles or you can play the puzzle of the day (when you think you can come up with your own puzzle, you can design and submit your puzzle on their website http://www.burntherope.com/contest.php).

What is great about this app is you can play your app without any controls on the screen but instead, by rotating the device and watch the flame burn through the puzzles. Each puzzle gets harder so do not get too heated and burn your own device. Burn the Rope by Big Blue Bubble.

Stack the States is an educational app about US geography. It’s Happy Face approved because this a great way for kids to learn about US geography and have fun at the same time. The main object is to stack up as many states on the platform to reach a goal line by answering geographic related questions.

When kids answer the questions about states (capitals, shapes, abbreviations, bordering states, etc) correctly, they get to a chance to stack the state. Once states are stacked high enough to reach a check line, they pass the level and earn a new random state. The challenge is to earn every state in the country. Kids can review their states at any time and more states they collect, more chances they have to unlock and play the bonus games. The stacking of the states is quite fun and requires some strategy. Bottom line is it’s very addictive!

The app has lots of unique questions so every time kids play the game, they will answer the different questions. Also kids can create their own profiles and choose any of the 50, friendly-looking states as avatars. This app is something both kids and adults will enjoy playing.

Similar to word search puzzles in your daily newspaper, the objective is to take given clues and find the correct word that is an appropriate fit. As an additional clue, letters are grouped together at the bottom for you to spell out words that you might think is correct. The good part about this game is you can make as many guesses as needed to figure out what the correct answer might be.
